"あこがれのイノセンス"
実在の動物や空想の動物、 獣のマスクをかぶった子どもが登場する作品は、幼少期に憧れた理想の世界を表現している。
子どもはとても愛しくイノセンスな存在だが、イノセンスとは残酷さもあわせ持っている。
獣のマスクを被って顔を隠した子どもは、鑑賞者によっては可愛くも見え、恐ろしく感じるだろう。
今でも幼少期の憧れを引きずる私だが、大人になった今はイノセンスの罪を知っており、作品には少しの皮肉や毒が紛れ込んでしまう。
“Longing for Innocence”
The works featuring real and imaginary animals, as well as children wearing beast masks, express an ideal world I admired during my childhood. Children are endearing and innocent beings, yet innocence also harbors a certain cruelty. A child with their face hidden behind an animal mask may appear cute to some viewers, while others might find them unsettling.
Even now, I carry the longing for that childhood ideal, but as an adult, I am aware of the sins of innocence. This knowledge subtly weaves irony and a touch of poison into my works.
